The radio is licensed for ham use only, but it can also be set up for commercially licensed customers. Purchasers must hold a valid ham radio or commercial license. (Not available for GMRS).

The front face of the radio is programmable with VFO channels, allowing you to quickly input repeaters and other frequencies on the fly, without the need to use the included programming software.
